PKS: Jokowi Should Give Political Examples Without Lies

Tabloid Nasional. Deputy Chairperson of the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) Assembly, Hidayat Nur Wahid, said that President Joko Widodo's (Jokowi's) statement asking politicians to stop conducting lies politics was naturally conveyed.

In fact, he said, Jokowi should also set an example to do politics without lies, without hatred or cause controversy in the public.

"It is only natural that the president will be the best example of politics without lies, so that others will easily follow," Hidayat said at the parliament complex in Jakarta on Monday (10/22).

Because, said Hidayat, at present all statements and actions are highlighted by the media. The public is said to be able to know the realization or manifestation of the statements of elites and officials.

Hidayat also considered Jokowi's statement because there were parties who were unstoppable in carrying out political lies. Although, Hidayat was reluctant to explain the party in question.

"Then it started from Mr. Jokowi so that it would be a very good example, so that everyone would be comfortable in politics without lies," he said.

For this reason, despite agreeing with Jokowi's statement, Hidayat requested that all parties prioritize ethics in politics. According to him, Jokowi's innuendo applies to all politicians.

"Everyone should feel insulted," said the Deputy Chairperson of the MPR.

Jokowi asked politicians to stop lying politics. This was conveyed by Jokowi when giving a speech at the peak of the Golkar Party's birthday celebration at JIExpo Kemayoran, Central Jakarta, Sunday (21/10).

"We must end lie politics, self-righteous politics, and strengthen development politics. Politics of development work, political work. The development of a nation of human resources is ready to compete in the industrial revolution," Jokowi said in his speech.

Meanwhile, Deputy Chairperson of the Gerindra Party Fadli Zon said that Jokowi was insinuating himself when asking all politicians and political parties to avoid lying politics.

"Maybe in order to reflect the times," Fadli said at the parliament complex, Jakarta, Monday (10/22).

Fadli actually questioned the parties who often did lie politics. Because, the politics of lies are considered as people who make promises but are not fulfilled.

Moreover, he said, currently Jokowi has served for four years. During that period, Jokowi was called a lot of indulgence in promises without being fulfilled.

"That is what political lies mean. So in my opinion, Pak Jokowi is insinuating himself," he said.
